Renowned Norwegian silversmith John Baalerud (1914-1983) operated a jewelry shop in Norway making highly collectible Mid-Century Scandinavian Modernist pieces. Many of his enamel items are “guilloche” enamel, which is translucent over metal, creating a glowing "moonlight" effect like this necklace has. His official trademark was “JB”, usually accompanied with a “925S” stamp for sterling silver (92.5% pure).
